M U L A N
My task was to illustrate the story of a hero. I was
fascinated by Mulan and wanted to learn more about her story.
She goes to war to protect her old father and younger brothers.
In her disguise as a warrior she grows beyond herself
and undergoes a character transformation which is told in my illustrations.
The water stands symbolically for change and shows her past self while in reality
the warrior is standing at the edge of the river.
